The collegiate association Muntu Afrika (registered association) was founded on November 13th in 2002. Many of our members are students from more than 10 African countries; through friends and families we are closely connected with these regions and also know well about the difficulties people have to face in their daily lifes.
In the meantime, also many students with non-African origin have found their way to Muntu Afrika. We are now a diverse group and always appreciate any interest in our club and the continent of Africa.
Dynamic, young and motivated we are raising attention about the situation in Africa. Also we are currently supporting three regional projects in Zambia, Uganda and Ghana. Furthermore we want to welcome students from Africa who just arrived in Germany, help with settling in and share with them our experiences far away from home. The Muntu (human being) is thereby always central to our events and projects, regardless of religious, social or ethnic background.
Apart from taking care of our projects in Africa we organize events and leisure time activities such as movie presentations, excursions, museum visits and so on. Also we regularly inform about third-party events and actions that are of interest to our members and associates.
We come together several times a month – and are happy about anyone who fancies joining us! So don't hesitate to ask about our next meeting at the contact page .
Besides several articles in the local press, the German radio station WDR5 has recently aired a short feature about us on their program Curiosity's sufficient in the rubric Yes it works! Small actions – big impact:
- the Geht Doch! page (German language)
- feature story as MP3 (German, too)
